LiveCrimeMap reads police news from local outlets in Brazil and Argentina, works out what happened and where, and shows it on a live map. Monthly counts of those incidents are free to download and reuse under CC BY 4.0: credit LiveCrimeMap (livecrimemap.com) with a link.

Every category is counted, domestic and sexual violence included. Categories: police_shootout, shooting, stabbing, homicide, sexual, kidnap, domestic, armed_robbery, assault, vehicle, burglary, stealth_theft, fraud, theft, drugs, police.

How it is made, and what it is not

Sources: local news sites and their feeds, plus news search; one incident reported by several outlets is counted once.
Articles are classified by rules and checked by a language model (is it a concrete local incident, of which type); places are matched against each city's streets, neighborhoods and landmarks (OpenStreetMap) and geocoded.
This counts what the press reported, not police records: coverage differs between cities, outlets and over time (cities were added at different dates). Use it for where and what, compare with care across places, and see the official statistics (Sinesp in Brazil, SNIC in Argentina) for rates.
The current month is partial.
